My House

One of the projects that I am most proud of is a music video that I made to the song "My House" by Pvris. This project was made with my two best friends, Alec Corkill and Tatty Wilson.

The project was made very quickly, being filmed over the course of two days, and edited in three. We were lucky enough to have friends who were invlolved in theatre, and therefor more than willing to be in the video.

We entered the video into a contest called e-Magine, a media festival in the Kansas City Metro area. We weren't expecting much due to the short time frame the video was made in, but we ended up winning second place in the music video category!

The most exciting part of the project was what would happen next. Pvris, the band who sang the song, played at Warped Tour the follwing summer, a music festival that travels through The United States, The United Kingdom, and Canada since 1994. Tatty Wilson, a co-creator of the video, is friends with the owners of Plug Your Holes, a company that sells gauges and works Warped Tour all summer. Tatty used her amazing connections to set us up with a meeting with the band.

Being late July, it was a hot, sweaty day, but it was all worth it to see some of our idols. We got to meet two members of Pvris, Lynn Gunn and Brian MacDonald. We took pictures with them, and gave them a flash drive with a copy of our video. We told them about our film class and the e-Magine festival, and they were both extremely nice to us, and seemed excited that we had made them a video.

We heard back from them about a month later, saying that they watched the video and loved it! It's exciting to know the one of my favorite bands not only know who I am, but also think that I'm talented in my field of study.
